Can a buyer get a mortgage to buy a for-sale-by-owner home?
Yes. Lenders finance FSBO purchases the same way they finance agent-listed homes. The home still needs an appraisal, clear title and a signed purchase contract.
Why does a pre-approval matter to a FSBO seller?
It shows you a buyer has had their income, credit and assets reviewed, so you can compare offers with more confidence before you sign a contract.
What is a mortgage broker?
